Getting to the Golden Isles

Travel

Jekyll Island is one of Georgia's Golden Isles, just off the southeast coast between Savannah and Jacksonville. Here's everything you need to make your way to us.

Our home base

The Jekyll Island Club Resort

A National Historic Landmark cradled along the river, the Jekyll Island Club is where we'll celebrate — our cocktail hour and reception (we'll say “I do” just a short stroll away at historic Faith Chapel). Once the winter haven of the Gilded Age's most storied families, its grounds are pure magic — turreted Victorian architecture and breezy wraparound verandas, manicured lawns and gardens, and centuries-old oaks draped in Spanish moss, all just steps from the water.

Sunset over the river here is unforgettable. It's the heart of our whole weekend — and our very favorite place for you to stay.

The Golden Isles

The Island

The island is small and flat — most everything is a short drive or bike ride away. We recommend renting a car, as rideshare can be limited, so plan ahead for getting around over the weekend. Good news for the big day: the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all within easy walking distance, so you won't need transportation on the wedding day itself.

Rent a golf cart

A fun, easy way to get around the island! We're renting a cart from Red Bug Motors for the week and highly recommend it if you'd like a quick way to zip around.

Good to know

Note: Jekyll Island charges a $10 per-vehicle daily gate fee at the entrance — keep the pass on your dashboard for the weekend.
